About Vita Sews

Thank you for visiting Vita Sews.  Sewing is my favorite thing to do.  I learned how to sew from my Mom, Vivian and she learned from my Grandma Virginia.  

Throughout my years, I have been sewing here and there.  I really enjoyed making costumes for my children when they were young.  Amber, Jasmine and Lexington bring me so much joy and I’m very proud of the adults they have become.  I truly value their input and they keep me young.  We shared good times during the pandemic, I made masks for them and everyone because I love to give  back to the community.

While in Europe from 2022 – 2025, I had a lot of time to hone in on my craft.  Many if not most of the items I create are made from material I obtained in London.  In London, I met the love of my life, Norman.  We have travelled to many countries and still continue to travel and we love to go on cruises.  This prompted me to begin crafting things that make it easy, fun and stylish while traveling, like sunglass cases, coin pouches and lanyards to name a few.   I always bought totes of all sizes from different countries we visited.  They were always a bit overpriced for an unlined bag.  I thought, I can make that and it will be much cuter with my material and customizations.  So, I started sewing more on the Bernina my mom heired to me.  Norman and I would always go to car boot sales and material was my number one thing to buy.  The more items I made, the better I got and everyone always loved my handmade gifts.  Soon afterwords, I would just make something I thought was cute, and they just sold without me even trying to sell.  So, I thought, why not turn my love for sewing into a small business.  And we came up with Vita Sews, well, that was one of the domains that was available.  Smile.  I liked it because it has my name it and my name means Life.   Thanks Mom.
